Professor Hans Muhr, of Vienna, Austria, is one of the world’s most famous water sculptors, renowned for his work from natural rock.
“Drama” is 17 feet tall, with 33 outlets, made from three larger Turkish marble stone, quarried in Anatolia, Turkey. 25 tons of stone were transported to Austria for Muhr to create the sculpture by using a drilling machine, grinders and hand tools. This fountain commemorates the centennial event of the founding of the Columbus Board of Water Commissioners in 1902, and their partnership with Columbus Water Works.
