Biography:
Mark Priest is currently a student at Columbus State University Department of Art with a focus on Sculpture.

Sculpture Description:
The swan is a symbol of peace and tranquility in many cultures. In a place like Columbus, where war has torn so much through history, I propose to create a representation of enduring rest. With a shape that is visually interesting and balanced it will be easy to digest as the abstraction of a natural form. It is a fascinating thing to see a bird sleeping from a distance. With the neck and head reclined the sleek form of the body becomes the most interesting part and a new form of its own. A companion image is a Canadian goose sleeping like a horizontal teardrop balancing on one vertical leg.
