Phoenix is an acknowledgement of the industrial progression of a southern river town and its many reinventions.

Jon Lumpkin was born in Columbus, GA. He studied art at Columbus College and Savannah School of Art and Design. He is currently the Exhibition, Materials, and Equipment Manager for the Columbus State University Department of Art. Jon has shown his work both nationally and regionally.

Jon Lumpkinā€™s work deals with the popular culture, social criticism and economic movement. He employs the saccharine language of contemporary economics and modern medicine. The work reflects humor and satire that entices the viewer with a candy-coated metaphor for the immediate gain and corrosive obligation of our society.
