George Goddard and Jon Lumpkin
In honor of Harry Kamensky
On 1st Avenue in the median between 11th and 10th Street.
George Goddard was born in Griffin, Georgia and grew up on Sea Island, Georgia. He worked as a college professor for over 30 years at Columbus State University, teaching sculpture and photography.
The civic beauty visible in all directions from its location is due in considerable part to Harry Kamensky’s vision, generosity, hard work and love for his city. The sculpture is dedicated by his friends, in deep gratitude for his selfless contributions to the revitalization of Columbus.
