Sander’s sculptures are marker for the passage of time. As a sculptor, Sanders is interested in the transformation of the materials as they are exposed to time and weather. During this exposure time, the two materials will shift. The wood will start to grey and the metal will begin to rust. As this process continues, the materials will switch in color as a result of time passing and the elements affecting the structure.
