Artist Statement

The concept of working from models as opposed to images is a major concern in this body of  work. I have been exploring fundamental aspects of weight, balance and volume in this series. It has been refreshing to step away from some of the more concept based social and narrative aspects of some of my previous work. I am focusing more on scale, line and modular open form in this latest series. Some of the forms explore continuous line, others are more concerned with geometry and balance. The evolution and possibilities seem endless and the idea of creating a model that can be morphed into a larger form is of interest for me at the moment. When the scale of the models are expanded the relationship to the human body is a concern.
